Meeting of the Symphony Vidin and Philharmony – Oltenia Art Councils

A meeting of the Art Councils of the Symphony – Vidin and the Philharmony – Oltenia is held from April 15 to April 17 in Vidin. The meeting is part of the project ” „Travelling on music notes – the popularize of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage of the cross-border region“”, to which the two cultural institutes have successfully partnered. The project is funded by the EU through the ERDF under the INTERREG V-A Romania – Bulgaria 2014-2020 Cross-border Cooperation Program, with a duration of one year and a total budget of EUR 211,000.50, of which EUR 179,350.42 is provided by the ERDF.

The purpose of the meeting is to develop a program for a unique music festival to be held in Vidin and Craiova in the fall. The festival will feature four concert nights with a different program performed by a joint Bulgarian-Romanian Symphony Orchestra. The events will be held in emblematic places for Vidin and Craiova, showing the rich cultural and historical heritage that the cities are proud of.

In addition to holding the festival, the project envisages the purchase of new instruments for the two orchestras and the creation of a film – a Musical Guide, which will promote tourism opportunities in the cross-border region on the one hand and the excellence of the two cultural institutes on the other. .
