November 2018 Symphony – Vidin launches project ” „Travelling on music notes – the popularize of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage of the cross-border region“” (“Traveling on music notes – the popularization of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage of the cross -border region”), code ROBG-578, funded by the EU through the ERDF under the Cross-border Cooperation Program” INTERREG VA Romania – Bulgaria 2014 – 2020 “. Simphony – Vidin partners with Philharmony – Craiova, the duration of the project is one year (13.11.2018 – 12.11.2019). The total budget of the project is EUR 211,000.50, of which EUR 179,350.42 is provided by the ERDF.
The main objective of the project is to increase the tourist attractiveness of the cross-border region of Vidin-Oltenia and to promote the local nature and cultural values through the use of contemporary creative industries and the creation of an innovative cultural event.
The following activities will be carried out within the project:
1. Forming a joint philharmonic orchestra. A unique formation of Bulgarian and Romanian musicians will be created to develop a joint concert program.
2. Preparation, conducting and promotion of the Music Festival. A music festival will be organized, as part of the program will be presented in the town of Vidin and the other in the town of Craiova.

4. Development of “Strategy for the Promotion of Music Culture and the Development of Music Tourism”
By uniting the potential of two of the largest cultural institutes and forming a joint tourism product and promotion policy, the project will significantly contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in the cross-border region. All planned activities within the project will be implemented in the cross-border region and will contribute to increasing the number of nights in the region. The main contribution will be the developed tourist product “Music Festival”, its organization and carrying it out. During the first year during the project implementation we expect the number of nights to increase by 600.
The festival created will be a sustainable cultural event, which will become part of the cultural calendars in Vidin and Oltenia districts, and in this regard we expect to contribute to the implementation of the program indicator after the end of the project.
